Pace High Choir Update - November 10th, 2016

Chocolate

• We began selling chocolate in August.
• Please have all remaining chocolate money turned in by Tuesday, November 15th.
• Approximately 20 students still have chocolate money that has yet to be turned in.
• Many students rely on their chocolate sales to pay for their uniform.  It is urgent that we finish this fundraiser immediately so that students’ credits may be used to pay the uniform company.

 
Concert Black Uniform

• Students should be receiving their Concert Black Uniform (Tuxes, Dresses, Character Shoes, Pearls) sometime next week after the shoes have arrived and the uniforms have been sorted.
• Please have all financial obligations (annual lab fee and the cost of the uniform) paid by Friday, November 18th. 
• I will send home a hard copy of each students Financial Statement from Charms the beginning of next week.

 
Upcoming Performances

• Our winter performance season will be upon us shortly, here is a list of our upcoming performances.  More performance opportunities may be added.
  • December 8th – Luminary Service @ Memory Park
    • CONCERT CHOIR ONLY
    • This performance is for clients of Memory Park Cemetary and not open to the public.
    • Attire – NICE Holiday clothes
    • Call Time – 6:00pm
    • Performance – 6:30pm
    • Dismissed – Approximately 7:30pm
  • December 10th – Cajun Christmas Festival @ PARA Football Field
    • ALL CHOIRS
    • Attire – Holiday Clothes (ugly sweaters encouraged pending temperature)
    • Call Time – 10:30am
    • Performance – 11:00am
    • Dismissed – 12:00pm
      • Sims MS will perform at Noon, please consider sticking around to support them!
  • December 17th –  Winter Concert @ University of West Florida
    • ALL CHOIRS
    • Attire – CONCERT BLACK (Dresses, Tuxes, and all the bells & whistles)
    • Call Time – 5:30p
    • We will take group yearbook pictures on-stage and walk through our performance.
    • Doors Open – 6:30pm
  • Winter Break –  Caroling Opportunities
    • Open for all choir students
    • Tentative date, time, location

• A rehearsal schedule for our performances will be released before Fall Break.

 
Disney

Pumpkin Party

• The choir pumpkin party was a huge success!
• Congratulations to Erin Nolan on winning the National Art Honors Society Pumpkin Carving Contest!  You represented the choir program well and won donuts for Concert Choir! J

 
Spectating Opportunities
UWF Singers

• Monday, November 14th at 7:30p @ UWF Music Hall.
• Admission is free.
• No buses will travel to this event but students are welcome to attend.

 
Choral Society Messiah

• We need chaperones!
• December 3rd at 7:00p @ the Saenger Theatre.
• $15 for students interested in attending.
  • Ticket price $10 and Travel $5.
  • Waiting on word back for price of adult tickets.

 
Pensacola Children’s Chorus – Christmas on the Coast

• December 9th and 10th at 7:30p and December 11th at 2:30p

• No buses will travel to this event but students are encouraged to attend to support their peers!

 
AIDA presented by the Pensacola Opera

• We need chaperones!
• Wednesday, January 18th, 2017 at 7:00p
• This is a HUGE opportunity for our students that is generously provided by the Pensacola Opera.  Opera tickets are often expensive (up to $115 per ticket) and can sell out.  The privilege of attending a live opera performance in Pensacola should not be taken lightly.
• Attendees for this trip will need to confirm before Winter Break because school is a madhouse when we come back in January.
• Cost of trip is $10 for students.
  • $5 Travel and $5 per student ticket.
  • $8 Chaperone ticket cost will be covered by choir.
• MUST have at least one chaperone per 10 students.
• Dress Attire: students must dress up for this event; i.e. dresses, slacks, button-up shirts, etc.
• This will be a late night with a 10:30p to 11:00p arrival back at school.  The opera will last at least three hours.
